He had a strong credo; Fairness, Honesty, and the dignity of Work. Be careful if
you asked him for his honest opinion because you would get it. No sugar applied
to the pill. He had a particular dislike for gossip. The club "Grange Albion"
was a rich source of comment and innuendo and he never repeated a single word.
Why be so hurtful and disrespectful towards others? Whatever the truth or
fabrication.

The sport he excelled at was an extension of him in many ways; uncompromising but never disrespectful of the opposition. Shake hands, buy them a pint, behave like a true sportsman. Win or lose. But the Grange Albion baseball team of his vintage rarely lost.Memories of summer evenings at Roath Park, Rumney Rec. and Severnoaks park are etched into my personal "Cloud" never to be deleted. As a child I thought he could leap tall buildings in a single bound.
